The fuel for Luo Jun’s Xinhua News Agency editorials is her rage at injustice in all its forms – from official corruption in China to Western double standards. Luo, who manages Xinhua’s social media accounts after two years in London as a political correspondent for the agency, says she has seen official government cars parked outside of entertainment facilities in broad daylight and is aware of cases where money has bought power. For her, the person who embodies the true values of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is her grandfather, a CPC member and toy company manager who cared for others but was always strict with himself. The bizarre story of Wang Lijun's dead of night escape to a US Consulate to seek asylum was because his boss slapped him. At least that's according to Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency. Xinhua published today a detailed account of Tuesday's hearing against Chongqing's former police chief. It was the first time his former boss, Bo Xilai, has been linked to his wife's murder of a British businessman. Wang Lijun reportedly admitted to helping cover up Gu Kailai's murder of Neil Heywood. When he later mentioned the murder with the quote "principle person" in charge of the city—ie, Bo Xilai—Bo slapped him across the face. This apparently prompted Wang, well versed in marital arts, to flee to the US Consulate in Chengdu on February 6th. During his brief stay there, Xinhua reported Wang a...

India is Getting ready to BATTLE China in Sikkim Issue with its Army . Chinese army carrying army exercises in Tibet . Chinese army carrying army exercises near Indian Border . India is ready for war with China . War tension on India - China border - TV9 . NEW DELHI Notwithstanding rise in China's power and military strength, Nathu La is physiologically a weak spot for the People's Liberation Army, akin to the Sino-Vietnam border, having lost to the Indian and Vietnamese counterparts in 1967 and 1979, respectively. The Indian military, overcoming the loss in 1962, had dealt a severe blow to PLA in 1967 in Nathu La sector that resulted in the death of 400 Chinese soldiers, a fact neither debated in Beijing nor Delhi. The Vietnamese Army had dealt a similar blow to PLA in 1979 along the Sino-Vietnam border merely four years after unification of Vietnam. The Nathu La and Cho La clashes, (September 11-14, 1967 for Nathu La; October 1, 1967 for Cho La) were a series of clashes between India and China along the Sikkim border. According to an Sino-Indian expert, the conflict ended with the defeat of China. Indian troops drove back the attacking forces. Many PLA fortifications at Nathu La were destroyed. Starting from August 13, 1967, Chinese troops started digging trenches in Nathu La across the Indian border. After Indian troops observed that some trenches were inside Sikkim, it asked the local Chinese commander to withdraw from the then Indian protectorate state. On October 1, 1967, another clash between India and China took place at Cho La, a few km north of Nathu La. According to the Indian government version with which neutral experts concur, the clash was initiated by the Chinese troops after a scuffle between the two, when the Chinese troops infiltrated into Sikkim, claimed the pass and questioned the position of Indian troops. According to the defence ministry, 88 Indian Army personnel were killed and 163 wounded while China lost 340 soldiers and 450 were wounded during the two incidents. China, however, claimed a lower number of casualties. According to s cholar John Garver, Professor Emeritus in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology after the Nathu La incident, Indian concerns were roused about China's intentions regarding Sikkim. Garver also said that India was "quite pleased with the combat performance of its forces in the Nathu La clashes, seeing it as signaling dramatic improvement since 1962 war". According to another scholar, Taylor Fravel, these incidents demonstrated the effects of China's "insecurity" on the use of force. In BEIJING Amid the Sikkim standoff, the Chinese Army is carrying out exercises simulating real battle scenarios at high-altitude areas in Tibet, testing new equipment, including a light battle tank. Follow us on TWITTER: http://twitter.com/cnforbiddennews Like us on FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/chinaforbiddennews According to Chinese media, the Director of Public Security in Guangdong Province will not serve as the Secretary of the Political and Legislative Committee (PLC). This has happened in another 21 cities. Xinhua Net, the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) official media, cited the report on June 4. From the evidence Xinhua Net supports weakening the PLC, analysts believe that "the second power center" and Zhou Yongkang's time have come to end. Here is more information. There have recently been rumors about the suppression and degradation of the PLC. According to Southern Metropolitan Daily, owned by Southern Daily Group in Guangdong, PLC secretaries will not serve as public security bureau directors after re-election. Cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Meizhou have made this change one by one. In 21 cities, deputy mayors will take the place of PLC secretaries, serving as public security bureau directors. Before 1998, the central PLC wasn't an important organization. However, after Jiang Zemin started persecuting Falun Gong, the PLC expanded its power drastically. It became "the second power center." Zhang Sutian, current affairs commentator, said that after Jiang Zemin took power, and in order to carry out the persecution, many public security bureau directors became PLC secretaries, maximizing their power. Zhang Sutian: "As a result, many local public security bureaus abuse their power. Courts and procuratorate actually have no power and have to obey public security bureau directors. The consequent chaos in China's justice system has made people suffer. Complaints can be heard everywhere, which increases the CCP's crisis." According to statistics by Southern Metropolitan Daily reporters, since the reelection at the end of last year, 14 local areas such as Foshan and Dongguan changed PLC secretaries. In some other areas, changes have been made to the responsibilities that PLC secretaries hold. Official media Xinhua Net, published the whole article from Southern Metropolitan Daily. Zhang Sutian, current affairs commentator, said that Xinhua Net had related reports this time. These were more obviously manipulated by Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao. Other sources reveal that the Central PLC will no longer enter the Central Politburo Standing Committee. Zhang Sutian: "After Wang Lijun's case and the conspiracy between Bo Xilai and Zhou Yongkang to oust Xi Jinping was exposed, the security of the CCP itself got threatened by the PLC. According to latest information, the PLC, as the second power center, as well as the power of Zhou Yongkang, has come to an end." The PLC, under the control of Zhou Yongkang has for many years has expanded it's violence to maintain stabilization. People have called on the central government "to get rid of PLC." This includes Mao Yushi, Chairman of Beijing Tianze Economics Institute and Yu Jianrong, sociologist at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It also includes He Weifang, law professor at Peking University and Zhang Zanning, law professor at Southeast University. According to commentator Hong Jian, if the PLC cannot directly lead public security bureaus, its main power is actually deprived. Hong Jian: "This indicates Hu and Wen's test on the blood-debt faction. To cut the connection between the PLC and the public security bureau, their key step is removing Zhou Yongkang." Writer Wu Jianguo believes that the power of the PLC has threatened the security of the CCP's core members. Wu Jianguo: "Hu and Wen weakened the PLC's power. One of the reasons is that they were aware of the PLC's expanded power. It has not only led to corruption, but threatened the key leaderships at different levels. Meanwhile, it shows Hu and Wen's capability of suppressing the PLC. Zhou Yongkang, as the head of the PLC, and part of Jiang Zemin's blood-debt faction, has lost his power. He can no longer maintain the PLC privileges." But Wu Jianguo pointed out that suppressing the PLC doesn't mean the CCP will then step into judicial independence. If Hu and Wen have the inclination, they should completely remove the PLC. They should let law-enforcement authorities operate based on law, rather than under the "CCP's command." 《神韵》2011世界巡演新亮点 http://www.ShenYunPerformingArts.org/

The Party has poured billions of dollars into expanding Xinhua's reach, with one senior official urging Xinhua to become a "world-class" media. But experts say it would be hard for Xinhua to reach that goal while it remains the so-called "throat and tongue" of the communist party. The Chinese regime's top propaganda official, Li Changchun, praised Xinhua News Agency on its 80th anniversary at a ceremony in Beijing on Monday. Li called on the state-run media to continue serving the Chinese Communist Party and shape public opinion. Li also urged Xinhua to become a "world-class" media, and increase its global influence. The Chinese Communist Party established Xinhua on November 7, 1931 as its mouthpiece. Freelance reporter Zan Aizhong says the news agency will continue to play that role, given Li Changchun's remarks on Monday. [Zan Aizong, Freelance Reporter]: "All of Xinhua's reporting is guided by Party seniors. It reports on matters the Party allows it to report. There's always a yardstick that Xinhua cannot report outside of. It has to follow orders, and is an 'obedient' media. Li Changchun is asking Xinhua to remain obedient, and even more so in the future." In an effort to exert its soft power, the Chinese regime has invested billions of dollars to expand its media. Xinhua is now a prominent feature in New York's Times Square. It also stated a 24-hour news station in July last year. But many commentators like media expert Professor Jiao Guobiao doubt Xinhua's prospects. [Professor Jiao Guobiao, Media Expert]: "As a media outlet, if it cannot operate with the values inherent of a media, it will not be successful, or any success it has will not be for long. If there is no pursuit for true and unbiased reporting, and the press is not guided by freedom and universal values, its goals of success will never be achieved." Xinhua currently has 162 overseas branches, and looks to increase to 200 by 2020. The Chinese regime's push for state-media expansion has not translated to greater press freedom in the country though. Advocacy Group Reporters Without Borders ranks the regime near the bottom of its 2010 Press Freedom Index.

During his brief stay there, Xinhua reported Wang applied for political asylum. US officials had previously denied Wang sought asylum. Gu Kailai was tried and convicted in August for Heywood's murder. Bo Xilai's name was not mentioned in those court proceedings. With state-run media now officially linking Bo to the case, it appears Communist Party leaders are ready to make the next move against him. Bo was sacked as Chongqing's Party Secretary in March. So far, he's only been reported as under investigation for Party disciplinary violations. Wang Lijun faced two days of hearings this week—one held in secret—over charges of defection, bending the law for personal gains, abuse of power and taking bribes. Xinhua reports Wang admitted to all of the charges.
